Job summary

TÜV SÜD America is hiring a Medical Device Safety Test Engineer in New Brighton, MN. You will support evaluation, testing, and certification of medical electrical equipment and in vitro diagnostics, ensuring compliance with safety and EMC standards for global market access.

Responsibilities include conducting electrical safety tests, reviewing technical docs, and preparing reports under senior guidance. Onsite/hybrid work model with opportunities for professional development in a globally

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical product safety testing or medical device compliance.
• Knowledge of electrical safety principles and test methodologies.
• Experience using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, hipot testers, leakage current analyzers, environmental chambers, and power analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Support the evaluation, testing, and certification of medical electrical equipment and in-vitro diagnostic devices.
• Perform electrical safety testing and evaluations for medical devices per applicable standards.
• Review technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, insulation diagrams, risk management files, and user manuals.
• Prepare accurate test records, engineering documentation, and technical reports under supervision.
