Job summary

TÜV SÜD America Inc. is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to lead safety testing programs for electrical products.

You will define project scope, plan tests, and coordinate resources while ensuring compliance with EN/IEC/UL standards at both TÜV SÜD facilities and customer sites. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in safety testing, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in electrical product safety testing in a lab or testing environment.
• Strong knowledge of national/international safety standards and certification.
• Experience performing evaluations, assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Clear written and verbal communication with customers and technical teams.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while managing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, requirements, test plans, schedules, and resources.
• Conduct product assessments, evaluations, and safety testing at facilities and at customer sites.
• Evaluate products against EN/IEC/UL standards and related safety requirements.
• Perform technical file reviews and assess docs, manufacturing processes, and construction for compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, certification docs, and customer communications.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams.
• Lead customer meetings on status, findings, corrective actions, and compliance.
• Support development of new testing methods, capabilities, and offerings.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex certification challenges.
