Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. is seeking a Packaging Engineer in Vernon Hills, IL to support design, development, and qualification of packaging systems for medical devices. This contract role emphasizes collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to meet regulatory standards.

You will assist with design control activities, translate requirements into packaging specs, and contribute to validation testing and documentation. A background in regulated environments is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field.
• 1-3 years packaging engineering experience or internships in regulated environments.
• Understanding of sterile barrier and non-sterile packaging concepts.
• Familiar with ISO 11607, ISO 13485, ASTM/ISTA standards (coursework ok).
• Foundational data analysis skills; exposure to DOE or Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and qualification of packaging systems for medical devices.
• Assist with design control activities for low to moderate complexity projects.
• Participate in packaging development from concept through verification and transfer.
• Help translate product requirements into packaging and process specs with guidance.
• Contribute to cross-functional project teams, supporting packaging strategy.
• Execute tasks with ownership, escalating risks or issues as needed.
• Prepare and maintain test protocols, reports, and change control documentation.
• Support packaging verification and validation activities, including data collection.
• Apply engineering principles to solve packaging problems and drive improvements.
