Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. is seeking a Packaging Engineer for a 12-month contract in Vernon Hills, IL.

You will support the design, development, and qualification of packaging for sterile and non-sterile medical devices, working under senior engineers to ensure compliance with domestic and international standards. The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a Bachelor’s in packaging/engineering, and familiarity with ISO 11607/13485.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging/engineering field is required.
• 1–3 years of packaging engineering experience; medical device/pharma exposure a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO 11607, ISO 13485, and ASTM/ISTA standards preferred.
• Basic knowledge of statistics; DOE or Six Sigma exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency with CAD and packaging design tools.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and qualification of packaging systems for sterile and non-sterile medical devices under senior engineers.
• Assist with design control activities and development of packaging specifications and documentation.
• Participate in packaging development projects from concept to verification and transfer, including testing and data analysis.
• Translate product requirements into packaging and process specifications with mentorship.
• Contribute to cross-functional project teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supply Chain).
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation in compliance with quality system requirements.
• Support packaging verification and validation activities, including sample preparation and testing coordination.
• Develop technical knowledge in medical device packaging through training and standards review.
