Job summary

Orange County Ophthalmology in Garden Grove, CA is seeking a friendly Medical Customer Service representative to join our team. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and enter demographic data into the EHR system, all while upholding HIPAA standards.

The role offers growth in a fast-paced medical environment with a patient-first mindset. Prior medical office experience is preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred.
• Familiarity with ophthalmology, optometry, or specialty medical office procedures is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical insurance verification, authorizations, and billing processes.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and general computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

• Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and efficiency.
• Process co-pays, billing inquiries, and coordinate with the billing department as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times.
