Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a cost analytics lead to translate large datasets into strategic insights on medical costs, driving value for health plan programs. You will engage with matrix partners to develop analytics, track program outcomes, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

Use SAS, SQL, R, Python to extract, summarize and analyze data and build dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny, delivering executive-ready presentations. Office-based role requiring travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences or other related area.
• Master's Degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences or other related area.
• 5 years of Medical Economics, Healthcare Analytics, Informatics and/or Actuarial Services in the health care payer sector.
• Strong coding background (R, R Shiny, Python, SQL, etc.). Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
• Strong Technical Data Skills (SAS / SQL, R, Tableau, Excel, etc.)
• Experience in the healthcare Industry, with solid knowledge of emerging trends and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop the value of the programs and track the outcomes of the programs.
• Provide strategic/tactical insights into emerging medical cost trends.
• Engage with matrix partners to develop medical cost analytics and determine value of business solutions.
• Present medical cost analytics and insights to key business partners.
