Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a skilled analyst to transform medical cost data into actionable insights. You will work with cross-functional partners to tell the story behind cost trends and measure program value.

You will extract large datasets using SAS, SQL, and other tools, build dashboards in Tableau or Power BI, and present findings to executives. A strong background in healthcare analytics is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Medical Economics, Healthcare Analytics, Informatics or Actuarial Services in the health care payer sector.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences or related area.
• Master's Degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences or related area.
• Strong coding background (R, R Shiny, Python, SQL). Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
• Strong Technical Data Skills (SAS/SQL, R, Tableau, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Develop medical cost analytics and provide strategic insights into emerging cost trends.
• Extract, summarize and analyze large datasets via SAS, SQL or other tools.
• Provide opportunity assessments of strategic medical cost programs and coordinate savings projections.
• Leverage analytics to drive opportunities and present findings to key partners.
• Present analytics and cost drivers to executives with clear, concise visuals.
