Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to perform CPT and ICD-10 coding for a variety of services across ER, inpatient, and outpatient settings. You will review physician documentation, assign accurate codes, and ensure compliance with CMS guidelines.

The role requires 2+ years of acute care hospital coding experience, proficiency with Epic, and a focus on accuracy and timely coding to support reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of coding/abstracting experience in an acute care hospital.
• Experience with Epic EMR and CMS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review physician documentation to identify services rendered.
• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for E/M and procedures.
• Ensure documentation supports billed services per CMS guidelines.
• Resolve coding edits and denials to support accurate reimbursement.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards set by the team.
• Conduct quality audits to improve coding accuracy.
• Educate providers on documentation and billing requirements.
