Job summary

The Coding Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for clinic and hospital encounters using the Epic EMR system. This role ensures compliance with coding guidelines and supports accurate reimbursement in a busy healthcare setting.

Qualifications include CPC credential, strong knowledge of coding systems, and the ability to research denials, query providers, and maintain data integrity while working in a hybrid office/remote environment.

Qualifications

• CPC credential required (AAPC or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding systems and guidelines.
• Experience with hospital, clinic, or CAH/RHC coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for PB and HB encounters.
• Research and resolve coding-related denials and edits; submit appeals as needed.
• Query providers for clarification to support accurate coding and reimbursement.
