Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coding professional for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle’s Coding Production Operations. This role focuses on complex professional coding (CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM) for both office and hospital-based physician services, with adherence to guidelines and compliance standards.

Qualified candidates will hold an active coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA) and have prior Epic or equivalent EHR experience.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding
• Experience with professional fee coding in healthcare settings
• Ability to interpret coding guidelines and apply them accurately

Responsibilities

• Independently code complex professional services (CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM) for physician services
• Code entry-level facility/outpatient encounters and basic inpatient services where applicable
• Ensure coding adheres to official guidelines and CMS regulations
• Identify need for clinical documentation queries as needed
• Maintain high accuracy and productivity for assigned workload
• Provide informal guidance to junior staff as needed
