Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks a Certified Coder to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient records at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with AHA guidelines. The role requires a graduate coding program, one year of coding experience, CPC/COC/CIC/CCA/CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials, and proficiency with Windows and 3M Encoder.

The successful candidate will support clinical departments, participate in MS-DRG determinations, and maintain coding

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited coding program.
• Minimum one year of inpatient/outpatient coding in an acute care setting.
• Credentials: CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, RHIT or RHIA.
• Proficiency with PC applications including Windows and 3M Encoder.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures.
• Utilize hospital encoder/grouper and adhere to AHA guidelines.
• Serve as coding resource for other departments and providers.
• Ensure accurate MS-DRG assignment across inpatient and outpatient records.
