Job summary

Clay Consulting is seeking a detail-focused Biller to support accurate billing and payment processing for our veteran-focused healthcare services. You will handle manual and electronic billing, verify payments from patients and insurers, and help maintain clean financial records.

The role requires 1–3 years in billing or AR, proficiency with Office 365, and strong data-entry skills. A healthcare setting background is a plus, and we offer an on-site, office-based environment in Houston.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
• Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and post billing statements manually and electronically.
• Accept and reconcile payments from patients and insurance providers.
• Prepare and manage payment batches and deposits.
• Conduct audits of billing cycles to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Review and assess Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies.
• Maintain accurate billing records and report discrepancies to accounting.
• Create and submit invoices according to company protocols.
• Update and maintain customer files, including changes in contact or billing information.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and ensure timely collections.
• Process account adjustments and assist with month-end closing procedures.
