Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant provides Front/Back office duties to various pulmonary providers in an outpatient setting. Candidate must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to multiple locations. Locations include Downtown Hospital, Glen Burnie and Ellicott City.

Front Office Duties

• Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures
• Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
• Complete patient check-in and check-out processes

Back Office Duties

• Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year experience, preferrably in a medical office setting.

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
