Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our patient-centered team. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient rooming, vitals collection, and EMR data entry to ensure seamless care delivery.

You will set up and assist with office procedures, and chaperone providers during examinations while maintaining exam rooms and supplies. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with 1 year of Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience as Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals.
• Enter patient information into EMR.
• Set up and assist with office procedures.
• Chaperone providers during patient examination.
• Take pre-op and post-op photos of patients.
• Maintain surgical instruments and transport to Central Sterile (CSS).
• Process surgical specimens and transport to Pathology.
• Maintain and stock exam rooms.
• Order clinical supplies.
• Complete FMLA and Disability forms.
• Clean and reset exam rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for:

• Room patients and obtaining vitals
• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
• Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
• Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Ordering clinical supplies
• Completing FMLA and Disability forms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
