Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a PRN Medical Office Specialist (Medical Assistant) for our Lung Center. The role responsibilities include front and back office duties in outpatient pulmonary clinics, with travel to Mercy Downtown, Overlea, Lutherville, Reisterstown, and other locations.

Monday and Tuesday availability is required. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least one year of medical office experience, CPR preferred, and proficiency in EHR systems like Meditech

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner and manage front desk duties.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments; verify insurance and collect payments as needed.
• Take patient vital signs and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide patient education as directed by providers; travel to multiple Mercy locations as required.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant provides Front/Back office duties to various pulmonary providers in an outpatient setting. This position is a traveling medical assistant. Candidate must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all location. Locations include Mercy Downtown, Overlea, Lutherville, Reisterstown, Glen Burnie and Ellicott City.

Must have Monday and Tuesday availability.

Front Office Duties

• Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures
• Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
• Complete patient check-in and check-out processes

Back Office Duties

• Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year experience, preferrably in a medical office setting.
