College of the Mainland is seeking a Medical Assisting Program Coordinator/Faculty to support the Medical Assisting program. The role requires credentialed Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) and experience with curriculum in allied health settings.
Responsibilities include practicum coordination, curriculum development, student advisement, site selection, and on-site assessments. This position is full time and indoors on campus, with potential irregular hours to meet student needs.

Associate’s degree or higher in a qualifying or other field with three (3) years of work experience in the industry
CMA ( AAMA ) or RMA ( AMT ) certification
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Associate’s degree or higher in a qualifying or other field with five (5) years of work experience in the industry
1-2 years teaching experience in an Allied Health environment.
Familiar with medical assistant curriculum either by previous experience or education; Previous instruction in educational theory or techniques; Principles and practices of teaching; Training techniques; Detailed knowledge of material being taught in the specific course and program area; Knowledge of student engagement techniques; Record keeping procedures; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
Previous experience teaching within a community college environment .
Job Duties
Responsible for practicum coordination. Develop and evaluate curriculum and course work; Meet classes as scheduled; Participate in student advisement; Maintain office hours for student consultation; Select and approve appropriate practicum sites; Conduct on-site assessment of student practicum experiences and the quality of learning opportunities at least once during each term; Serve on committees as appropriate; Counsel students as needed; Participate in student recruitment
Continuous professional development related to roles and responsibilities; Other duties as assigned.
Licensing/Certification Requirements
Credentialed Medical Assistant ( CMA ) or Registered Medical Assistant ( RMA ) from a nationally accredited credentialing organization
Physical Requirements
Indoors; classroom and office environment. May require irregular hours in order to meet the needs of the students.
Minimum physical demand. Must be able to travel, sit for extended periods, work at a computer, communicate with telephones, and get around the campus. Must be able to function at night, normal bending, stooping, lifting as might be associated with any office job.
