Job summary

CareNow urgent care in Pasadena, TX is seeking an NCT/Medical Assistant to join a collaborative team focused on patient care. You will take vital signs, perform imaging per provider orders, collect histories, and update EHRs, while supporting check-in/out and chart audits. A BLS and radiology license (GMRT/LMRT/NCT) are preferred, with EHR experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT, LMRT, or NCT license required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification is preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out including chart audits.
• Maintain records and logs for in-house and sent-out lab work.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
