Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking Medical Assistants to support NY Army National Guard readiness across New York. Work is primarily on weekends, with some weekday coverage, at various sites statewide. The role is part-time and on an as-needed basis, assisting with PHA events, patient flow, and documentation.

Hourly pay is $23.26, plus travel expenses. Candidates should have a high school diploma, BLS/CPR certification, and medical-support experience; background checks and access requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant training or prior medical/clinical support experience preferred.
• Experience obtaining height, weight, and blood pressure preferred.
• Able to work at various locations throughout New York State, including military installations.
• Must pass background checks and meet installation access requirements.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Support Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) events for NYARNG Service Members.
• Perform basic administrative duties, including check-in, roster verification, and event tracking.
• Assist with patient flow and ensure routing through PHA stations.
• Obtain and document height, weight, and blood pressure on SF600 forms.
• Support documentation and entry of medical readiness findings and vision results.
• Assist with collection and processing of PHA/SRP medical readiness packets and records.
• Document information accurately on military-approved forms and systems.
• Protect Service Member information and comply with HIPAA and related requirements.
• Complete required training and follow contractual requirements.
