LAUKOA is seeking Medical Assistants to support NYARNG PHA events on weekends across New York. This part-time, as-needed role involves patient flow, basic screening, and medical readiness documentation at multiple sites.

You will collect vital signs, assist with event check-in, maintain HIPAA compliance, and support related administrative tasks. A valid BLS/CPR and high school diploma are required, with medical assistant training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient flow and ensure Service Members are routed through PHA stations.
• Obtain and document height, weight, and blood pressure on the Service Member's SF600.
• Support documentation and entry of medical readiness findings, including vision results when provided.
• Assist with collection, organization, and processing of PHA/SRP medical readiness packets and records.
• Document information accurately on military-approved forms and systems.
• Safeguard all Service Member information and maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Complete required training and follow contractual requirements.

SUMMARY:

Laukoa is currently seeking Medical Assistants to fill our clinical support positions located throughout the State of New York in support of medical readiness services for the New York Army National Guard (NYARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout New York. All work is a part-time "as needed" basis. Medical Assistants will support PHA event administration, basic screening, patient flow, and medical readiness documentation.

Hourly Pay: $23.26 Plus Travel Expenses

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) events for NYARNG Service Members
• Perform basic administrative duties, including Service Member check-in, roster verification, and event tracking
• Assist with patient flow and ensure Service Members are routed through required PHA stations
• Obtain and document height, weight, and blood pressure on the Service Member's SF600
• Support documentation and entry of medical readiness findings, including vision results when provided
• Assist with collection, organization, and processing of PHA/SRP medical readiness packets and records
• Document information accurately on military-approved forms and/or systems as assigned
• Safeguard all Service Member information by keeping written and verbal communications confidential and discreet
• Ensure all actions comply with HIPAA and other applicable federal and state requirements
• Complete required training and follow applicable contractual requirements stipulated by the client and Laukoa

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required
• Medical Assistant training or prior medical/clinical support experience preferred
• Experience obtaining height, weight, and blood pressure preferred
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments, with large volumes of Service Members seen daily
• Able to work at various locations throughout New York State, including military installations
• Must be able to successfully pass required background checks and meet installation access requirements
• Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
• Must be collaborative and solutions oriented
• Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with diverse populations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
• Experience working in a military setting or supporting Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) preferred
• Experience with military medical readiness systems preferred
