Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Big Rapids Care Center. The role supports the clinical team and patients, ensuring high-quality care with the patient-centered focus Corewell Health is known for.

In this full-time position, you will work a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in a 36-hour week, with days variable across Monday through Sunday. A sign-on bonus is available for external applicants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program OR one year of direct patient care experience required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA credentials required within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure delivery of quality care.
• Assist with front desk and clinical tasks to support patient flow and care delivery.

This position consists of 3 - 12 hour shifts per week.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
