Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Urgent Care Float across multiple Michigan locations. The role offers exposure to diverse patient needs in a fast-paced environment and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants or CHW MA Apprentice students.

You will join a collaborative clinical support team, performing direct patient care and coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or one year of direct patient-care experience as MA/LPN/Paramedic/EMT.
  • One year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • BLS certification preferred; required within 90 days.
  • Certification options CMA/AMT/RMA/NCMA/NAHP within 120 days.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
  • Preferred AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following
  • Required within 120 Days AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
