Job Description:

Shift Details: 24 hours/week, Part Time. Clinic is open 7 days per week from 8:00am to 7:00pm. Schedule will be for 2 shifts per week.

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will:

  • Provide Patient Care: Assist clinicians by gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition under the direction of the provider.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with patients via phone and in-person interactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate patient care, paying attention to detail and follow-through.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire).
  • Or at least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire).
  • Or current RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start date.
  • Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high-quality care.
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in outpatient clinics or healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and relevant software.
  • Current national MA certification from recognized bodies such as RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, or CMA (AAMA).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to see, read, and assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent verbal communication with providers, patients, and visitors, including during emergencies.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and frequent computer use.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist with patient mobility and transport of supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate busy environments.
  • For roles involving driving, ability to operate a vehicle safely.

The hourly rate ranges from $19.20 to $27.35, depending on experience.
