Job summary

Cedar Point Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Clinical Aide to support a busy practice. You will conduct pre-visit planning, take vitals, injections, blood draws, and help with patient education and treatment preparation.

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and experience in a physician's office. You may cover at different locations; schedule is 36–40 hours weekly with rotating shifts including days and weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
• Knowledge of medical equipment, instruments, safety hazards and precautions.
• Knowledge of clinical quality assurance.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
• Ability to assist, interpret, adapt and apply guidelines in a variety of common office procedures.
• Ability to maintain records and record test results.
• Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient electronic medical record prior to appointment and confers with provider regarding incomplete tests/consults or other orders.
• Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and taking vitals, heights and weights.
• Prepare, clean, and keep all rooms stocked
• Gives injections, blood draws, special tests and procedures as directed by a provider.
• Administers medication upon physician order and responds to medication requests per practice protocol via (fax, phone and e-script).
• Triages, schedules specialty tests not available in the office, and responds to patient communication within practice policy.
• Assists providers with patient education and self- management.
• Maintain courteous relationships with outside caregivers, insurance carriers, labs, hospital, and pharmacies at all times.
• Performs other related work as required.
