Job summary

Nevada Health Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant Training Specialist to support all clinical sites across Nevada on a rotating basis. You will train and educate medical assistants, oversee competencies for new hires, externs, and the MA-in-Training program, and ensure adherence to practice standards.

The role includes developing QA materials, overseeing EMR training, and participating in direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold national CCMA certification; if not, obtain within 180 days of employment.
• 3+ years as a Medical Assistant in family medicine, pediatrics, or specialty medicine in a clinic setting.
• Desire to train medical assistants in clinical best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical skills and competencies of medical assistants and identify training needs.
• Develop and deliver education on quality, safety, population health and patient-centered care.
• Supervise online MA training program and on-site training for new hires and externs.
• Evaluate daily skills and ensure proper documentation in EMR/EHR; track annual competencies.
• Participate in direct patient care and provide guidance during MA onboarding.
• Provide training for telemedicine equipment setup and visits.
