Job summary

Nevada Health Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support Amargosa Valley and Pahrump locations in a patient-centered medical home. Providers rely on you for room preparation, vital signs, injections, phlebotomy support, and efficient clinic operations.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion (or equivalent), CCMA certification or intent to obtain within 180 days, and BLS/CPR. Travel to multiple sites may be required; competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• National certification through NHA as a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA). If not currently nationally certified must obtain within 180 days of employment.
• BLS/CPR Certification.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and treatment rooms for examination and treatment.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Administer injections and apply dressings as instructed.
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• Observes infection control policies.
• Assist providers in preparing for minor surgeries and exams.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Complete and maintain patient documentation, files, records and other information.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
• Works closely with the providers to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors, providers, staff and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and high-quality service.
• Utilizes equipment that interfaces with NVHC EMR system (e.g. EKG, spirometry, etc.).
