Cleveland Clinic Florida's Occupational Health Department seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Expanded Drug Testing (EDT) and Respiratory Fit Testing program. The role involves urine specimen collection, fit testing, HIPAA compliance, and coordinating with laboratories to ensure safe, compliant patient-care operations.

Responsibilities include DOT procedures, testing equipment QC, and training staff. The position involves daily clerical tasks and travel within Florida, with a Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (as part of minimum qualifications)
• BLS Certification through AHA or Red Cross within new hire period
• One year of recent work experience as a Medical Assistant

Responsabilités

• Maintain knowledge of 49 CFR Part 40 DOT drug testing procedures and certification for specimen collections
• Facilitate collection of urine specimens from employees
• Identify employees before specimen collection per policies
• Label and document specimens for processing and transfer to labs
• Communicate unresolved problems to Manager/Supervisor
• Follow OSHA standards when handling specimens
• Perform respiratory fit testing and training
• Instruct caregivers on respirator use, inspection, maintenance, and storage
• Inspect, assemble, and perform daily QC of testing equipment
• Document fit testing data in the occupational health record
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Process orders and stock supplies
• Submit accurate time, travel, expense, and collection logs
• Assist with department clerical duties as needed
