Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking an Occupational Health Medical Assistant to support employee health programs across the organization. Under the Manager of Occupational Health, you will assist with health promotion, prevention of illness, and protection from workplace hazards.

Responsibilities include coordinating testing orders, influenza program activities, respiratory fit testing training, data entry, and maintaining medical records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification required.
• Two years of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Supports occupational health programs including workers’ compensation, infection control, immunizations, respiratory fit testing, and annual influenza program.
• Submits orders for required employee testing (drug/alcohol, immunizations, labs, radiological tests).
• Coordinates annual influenza program; travel for clinics.
• Conducts respiratory fit test training (PAPR) for clinics.
• Develops educational materials related to employee health programs.
• Data entry, generating reports, and maintaining employee medical records.
