Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for a correctional facility with a balance of clinical and administrative duties. You will support providers during exams, document vitals, collect specimens, and manage health records in an on-site, structured environment.

Responsibilities include intake, point-of-care testing, medication support, and strong adherence to safety, HIPAA, and infection control protocols. 6:30a-3p, M-F, full-time contract position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification as required by state regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of active clinical Medical Assistant experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and move quickly in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Record vital signs and patient health information at intake and during clinics.
• Collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and other clinical tasks.
• Safely administer routine medications as allowed by policy.
• Respond to medical emergencies and support staff as needed.
• Maintain infection control; clean and sanitize areas.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and pharmaceuticals.
• Manage health records in EHR/EMR systems and coordinate appointments.
• Uphold HIPAA regulations and professional boundaries.
