Job summary

TEEMA Group seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) for a full-time contract position at a correctional facility. You will provide clinical and administrative support under nursing supervision, assisting with intake screenings, point-of-care testing, and chronic care clinics in a secure environment.

Required: high school diploma or GED, accredited MA program, CMA or RMA certification per state rules, BLS, and at least 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification as required by state regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one year active clinical experience as Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Accurately document vitals, health history, and intake information.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing within scope.
• Support medication administration as allowed by policy.
• Respond to medical emergencies and support staff during urgent situations.
• Maintain infection control and sanitation in exam areas.
• Monitor supply levels and manage medical inventory.
• Maintain accurate health records in EHR/EMR and coordinate care.
