Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for a correctional facility in Wisconsin. You will provide clinical and administrative support under licensed staff, including vitals, intake, specimen collection, and coordination of care.

The role emphasizes structure, safety, and patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited MA program with CMA/RMA certification, current BLS, and at least 1 year of clinical MA experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CMA or RMA certification as required by state.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of active clinical MA experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provider assistance during examinations and procedures.
• Take and document vitals and intake health information.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing.
• Safely administer routine medications per policies.
• Respond to emergencies and support the healthcare team.
• Prepare and sanitize exam and treatment areas.
• Monitor supplies and manage inventory.
• Maintain accurate medical records in EHR/EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate care.
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain professional boundaries.
