Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Center for Pain Medicine. You will coordinate patient care, prepare exam rooms, and document vital signs and medication lists in the EHR under provider supervision.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or a high school diploma with certification within 120 days; CPR is required. Travel between AHN locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certified Medical Assistant required or certification within 120 days of hire as specified.
• Must meet CPR – American Heart Association standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient examinations and care under provider supervision.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and screening information.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR; screen social history.
• Assist with back-office testing and procedures; may serve as a scribe.
• Document accurately in the EHR and maintain inventory of supplies.
