Job summary

MyTown Health Partners in Gautier, MS is hiring a Medical Assistant to support Providers in patient care. You will collect vital signs, prepare charts, coordinate referrals, and manage EMR updates to ensure efficient clinic operations.

The role requires 1–2 years in urgent or primary care, a valid driver’s license, and phlebotomy experience. Competitive benefits are offered in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification, strongly preferred.
• At least 1-2 years recent experience in urgent or primary care setting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
• Must have experience in phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Ability to communicate effective with Providers and others to resolve issues.
• Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness to patients, families, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Providers with patient care and minor procedures.
• Collect vital signs and perform routine diagnostics/treatments.
• Prepare patient charts including DIs, referrals, labs, and DMEs.
• Gather patient information and communicate to care team.
• Develop and update HPI, Social History, vitals, assessment and plans.
• Communicate with patients and their families to put them at ease.
• Maintain clinic supply inventory and stock patient rooms.
• Process medication refills and patient referrals.
• Coordinate appointments with specialists and outside organizations.
• Manage incoming/outgoing medical records from specialists and hospitals.
• Update patient information in the EMR (demographics, contacts, insurance).
• Review schedule and ensure the team stays on track.
• Collaborate with providers to deliver counseling and health education.
• Handle clinical triage calls and determine telephonic vs. in-person care.
• Work with team to meet patients’ healthcare needs.
