Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Peoria, IL. You will support a primary care physician, handling both clinical responsibilities and front-desk duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires at least 1 year of MA experience, completion of an MA program, and CPR/BLS certification at start. Phlebotomy experience is preferred and the team emphasizes patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in primary care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program.
• National or state MA certification or registration preferred; required where applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Take vitals, draw blood, administer injections, and assist with procedures.
• Coordinate with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
• Record accurate data in the medical record and communicate results.
• Front desk duties including scheduling, referrals, and patient check-in/out.
