• BLS certification required within 90 days
• One of CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA certifications required within 120 days

About the Unit

ICCB Primary Care clinic is the largest Primary Care office in the medical group, and we see approximately 300 patients a day. The clinic covers family, internal, and pediatric medicine. MAs hired into this space are expected to be competent in both clinical and clerical tasks as well as adult and pediatric immunizations. Our MA schedules are built into blocks to match the provider/business need. Most schedules will include at least one early morning shift and one late night shift.

As we are a large site with many people, it is important to have the ability to take initiative and fill a need or lend a hand whenever possible. This position will have Wednesday Off and Thursday will be a late night 8:30am to 7pm. Monday, Tuesday and Friday 6:30am to 5pm. There's an office rotation that leadership would like to discuss during the interviewing process and schedule is up for changes according to the office needs (based on providers schedules).

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
