Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience as MA/LPN/Paramedic/EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days.
• Certification within 120 days: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA.

About The Unit

Our Internal Medicine practice is located at 4444 Kalamazoo suite 200, in Kentwood. We currently have 9 providers with plans for a new physician in fall of 2026. We are internal medicine, so we see only adults 18 and above. Our MAs typically work a four-day work week, with one early morning and one late night until 7pm. We have a positive and friendly culture with providers and staff who enjoy teaching.

Hours of work range 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Thursday until 7 p.m.

• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

• One of the following Required within 120 Days
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
