Job summary

Corewell Health, located in Grand Rapids, seeks a Medical Assistant for our urgent care beltline clinic. This full-time role supports the clinical team to deliver high‑quality patient care, with a 36.75-hour week, day shifts from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and a rotating schedule. Eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants.

Requirements include a MA program completion or 1 year direct patient care, high school diploma, and BLS within 90 days. Ambulatory care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical skills OR 1 year direct patient care experience.
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• AHA/ARC Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or NRCMA within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical team to ensure delivery of quality patient care.
• Assist with patient intake and routine clinical tasks in urgent care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow MA scope of practice.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. Scope of Work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required


• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on, in‑person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required


• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred


• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

• One of the following Required within 120 Days


• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)


• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)


• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)


• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)


• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
