Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• EMR experience, preferably Athenahealth, is preferred.
• Geriatric patient care experience is preferred.
• Excellent grammar and interpersonal communication skills as a must.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician assessment.
• Complete exam intake—review medical history, social history, surgical history, and history of present illness.
• Record vitals and document in Athenahealth EMR.
• Assist physician with examinations and taking X-rays as needed.
• Perform daily admin tasks: restock rooms and dispose of waste.
• Clean and sterilize exam and X-ray rooms after each patient and daily.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients and health maintenance visits.
• Telephonic outreach to coordinate ongoing preventative care.
• Manage medical records requests, orders, appointments, referrals, etc.
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support when needed.
