Job summary

Upperline Health Inc. is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy clinic setting in Dayton, OH. The role involves clinical and administrative tasks, including taking X-rays and EMR documentation, with travel between locations as needed.

Ideal candidates bring podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience, familiarity with athenahealth, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive benefits and weekday clinic hours.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience assisting or providing care to geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience working in an EMR; athenahealth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician assessment.
• Complete exam intake: medical history, social history, surgical history, illness history.
• Record vitals and document in EMR (athenahealth).
• Support podiatric physician, including taking x-rays and assisting in exam room.
• Perform daily admin tasks: restock rooms, dispose of trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient and at day end.
• Conduct health assessments and visits with Upperline Plus patients.
• Telephonic outreach to coordinate ongoing preventative care with Upperline Plus.
• Care coordination: medical records requests, orders, appointments, referrals.
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support as needed.
