Job summary

Low Country Cancer Care is seeking a Medical Assistant focused on phlebotomy and clinical laboratory support. You will assist physicians during procedures, perform blood draws, conduct tests, and ensure quality control and proper documentation in the EMR system.

The role requires at least one year of clinical experience and a High School diploma or GED, with BLS and a valid driver's license. Some travel to other clinic locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of medical assistant experience with venipuncture required.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures in office.
• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing.
• Maintain quality control procedures before patient testing and document results.
• Prepare slides for evaluation and handle specimen processing according to lab protocols.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals as ordered by physicians.
• Document in EMR and ensure accurate charge capture for services.
• Monitor and maintain lab equipment and inventory; troubleshoot instrument issues.
