Job summary

Georgia Oncology and Hematology Consultants is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with procedures in the office, perform phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, and instrument maintenance.

The role includes blood draws, specimen handling, and documenting results in the EMR. The candidate will schedule outside testing and maintain QA/QC records, with travel to other clinic locations (<25%).

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS required.
• One year of medical assistant experience with venipuncture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures.
• Perform laboratory blood work and phlebotomy.
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
• Prepare slides for evaluation.
• Coordinate outside testing and referrals as needed.
• Maintain test logs, QA/QC records, and equipment logs.
• Document patient information in EMR and charge accordingly.
• Obtain vital signs and basic patient information as requested.
