Job summary

American Oncology Network in Georgia is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with procedures in the office. You will perform phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and routine maintenance to support patient care.

You will handle specimen processing, prepare slides, manage records in the EMR, and coordinate referrals and outside testing as needed. Travel to other clinic locations (<25%) and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to other clinics.
• 1 year of medical assistant experience in a clinic or physician’s office with venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory blood work following procedures with accuracy.
• Conduct quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
• Assist physicians with procedures and manage specimen handling.
• Document results in EMR and charge captures in the encounter form.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals as needed.
• Maintain inventory and equipment records; initiate troubleshooting.
