Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for the Evanston, IL outpatient setting. Primary duties include answering phones, scheduling, patient registration, collecting co-pays, and front office support.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; a medical assisting program is preferred. CPR certification is required; MA certification is optional. One year of medical office experience is expected, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; MA certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred but not required.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field is required; on the job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight)
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical assisting program (preferred)

CPR certification through American Heart Association

Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred
