Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant in Chicago (Lakeview clinic) for full-time and part-time roles. The position involves front-desk duties, patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, medical record updates, basic vitals, and potential phlebotomy/injections as needed.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent; CPR is required. Healthcare experience and/or an accredited medical assisting program are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments

• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
