Job summary

Gastroenterology & Hepatology Specialists, Inc. in Canton, OH is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our clinic full-time. You will schedule procedures, take vital signs, collect specimens, and document patient information to support physicians.

Requirements include a high school diploma, prior Medical Assistant experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS/CPR certification. Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for procedures at clinic, ASC, and hospital.
• Measure vital signs and document in patient charts.
• Collect specimens for lab analysis as applicable.
• Obtain and record health history of patients.
• Assist physicians during office visits and emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed.

Snapshot of Daily Duties

• Schedule patients for procedures at clinic, ASC, and hospital along with radiology and lab work
• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient’s chart, if applicable
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency, if applicable
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results
• Schedule Research Patients

The Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• SHIFT: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday
