Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and the care team. You will coordinate patient care, prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, document history and medications in the EHR, and assist with procedures under supervision.

Responsibilities include handling clerical tasks, ensuring supplies, and supporting follow-up communication with patients. This role requires a current CMA/MA certification or eligibility and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if required.
• Preferred Associate’s Degree.
• CPR certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of a provider.
• Room patients and take/record vital signs and medical history.
• Document in the EHR and review medication lists.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain medical supplies.
• Assist with exams and procedures; may act as a scribe.
• Administer and document medications per policy; perform lab checks.
• Follow up with patients per provider instructions; notify test results.
