Job summary

Miami Valley Infection Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA or LPN) for a full-time role with 80 hours per pay period. The MA will see upwards of 30 patients per day and provide general clinical and procedural patient care under supervision of the Practice Manager and center physicians/providers.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, performing injections, EKGs, lab testing, and wound care, while maintaining excellent patient experience and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant program and/or CMA certification.
• Prior ambulatory health care facility experience preferred.
• Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management and physicians.
• CPR certification within the first 3 months of employment.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vitals.
• Administer injections and perform EKGs.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests, lab testing, dressing changes, wound care, hearing and vision tests.
• Support physicians and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain patient experience and safety.
