Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is hiring a Full-time Medical Assistant to support patient flow and clinical operations. You will perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and routine procedures, while greeting patients and assisting with scheduling.

As a frontline team member, you will document tasks in the EMR, queue prescriptions for review, keep patient areas clean and stocked, and coordinate with clinicians to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience in a clinical or research setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and routine procedures.
• Ensures patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use.
• Escorts patients to radiology and lab as needed.
• Uses EMR to queue prescription renewals and to enter orders; documents tasks for billing.
• Prepares schedules, patient charts and clinical documents as directed.
