Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with check-in and scheduling.
• Perform medical assisting duties including vital signs, phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Enter and queue prescriptions and orders in the EMR system.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation for clinical activities.
• Provide patient care support to clinicians during procedures.
• Escort patients to radiology and lab as needed.
• Verify insurance, pre-authorizations, and referrals when required.
• Accurately document tasks in the EMR for proper billing.
• Monitor patient flow and keep waiting areas organized and informed.
• Answer phone calls and relay messages as needed.
