Job summary

Atrium Health Greater Charlotte is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across clinics. You will perform rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.

You will assist providers with procedures and manage lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT. Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or DD214 clinical training.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training per DD214.

Responsibilities

Adheres to scope, policies and procedures, and maintains competency in patient care.
Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, allergy review, and screenings.
Assists providers with procedures and performs lab duties, including venipuncture and POCT.
Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
Handles referrals, scheduling, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging.
Maintains clean, stocked work areas and ensures equipment readiness.
Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and age-appropriate patient care.
