Job summary

ModernMD Urgent Care is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient diagnosis, intake, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing. The role emphasizes accurate EMR documentation, patient throughput, and collaboration with the clinical team.

The position includes cross-training opportunities (Scribe and PCC) and requires a patient-focused approach with strong communication and organization skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in urgent care.
• Strong attention to detail while maintaining a high level of organization.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills – team player.
• Fluency in Spanish, Bengali, Arabic, Creole, French, or Hindi is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and use WOWs during visits.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG as needed.
• Execute lab orders and point-of-care testing; collect and prepare specimens.
• Review lab results and assist providers with procedures.
• Document all clinical services in the EMR accurately.
• Direct patient throughput and maintain organized back office flow.
• Cross-train to support scribe and PCC functions.
